The Dr Kedar Nath Modi Institute of Engineering and Technology, [KNMIET] Modinagar was established in 1995. Today it is one of the leading institutes for technology and business management education in the NCR region.

The Institute is part of the Dr. K.N. Modi Foundation that has made an immense contribution to technical education in the country. Apart from setting up professional and technical institutes nationally, it has also established a Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, where courses are taught based on the 'Gurukul' methodology. Students that successfully complete this course are awarded degrees of 'Acharya' and 'Shastri'.

The KNMIET Admissions are based on past academic merit and for certain B.Tech courses depend on the UPSEE scores. Moreover, the institute is affiliated to two well-established universities, Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow and C.C.S University, Meerut.
