Chandigarh University CUCET Scholarship

Chandigarh University Merit Scholarship for Students of Ladakh

Students from Ladakh who have scored 80% or more in their higher secondary qualifying examination are eligible for this Chandigarh University scholarship. A maximum of twenty-five students are awarded this scholarship which is worth more than INR 1.5 crores.

Chandigarh University Academic Merit Scholarships

Chandigarh University scholarships are awarded to students for various academic achievements. The scholarships encourage students to perform better during their academic career and program tenure.

The scholarship guidelines include that students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.5 in their semesters without backlog to continue their scholarship.

• MBA Scholarship- A maximum of 10% of the total students are eligible for this scholarship.

• UG Courses Scholarships- A maximum of 10% of students are eligible for this CU scholarship.

• PG Courses Scholarship- A maximum of 10% of the total students are eligible for this Chandigarh University scholarship.

• LEET Courses Scholarship (Diploma)- A maximum of 10% of the total students are eligible for this scholarship.

Chandigarh University Other Merit Scholarships

Other Chandigarh University merit scholarships offered to students on admission are listed below:

• Students who have participated in NCSC- Winners of NCSC are awarded a 100% Chandigarh University scholarship, while students who have only participated receive a concession of 10% on their fees.
• CGPA-based Scholarship- CUCHD offers scholarships to students based on their CGPA in their board examinations. Students are awarded a 10% Chandigarh University scholarship on a CGPA of more than or equal to 9.
• Sports Scholarship- Chandigarh University Mohali scholarships include 20%-100% scholarship awarded depending on the level of participation and awards. The university aims to offer equal importance to both academics and sports.

Chandigarh University Scholarships for Minorities

Chandigarh University Mohali aims to provide equal academic opportunities for all categories of students. To fulfil this, the university offers various Chandigarh University scholarships that help financially backward or minority students.

Kalpana Chawla Scholarship for Girls

This Chandigarh University Scholarship 2024 is offered to ten meritorious girls belonging to the EWS category to promote higher education. 

• A 10% tuition fee waiver is extended to every selected candidate.
• Students whose family income is less than INR 3 LPA are eligible for this scholarship.
• The CUCHD scholarships are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.
• Students must note that for the continuation of the scholarships, they must not have any backlogs in any year or semester.

Post Graduate Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST

Students belonging to the SC/ST categories, pursuing professional PG courses are eligible for this Chandigarh University scholarship.

• Students in correspondence/distance learning courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
• Furthermore, MA, M.Com, M.Sc, MSW and Mass Communication & Journalism courses are not accepted as “Professional courses”.
• The tenure of the award is for two-three years depending upon the tenure of the postgraduate course.
• Candidates who are selected for this Chandigarh University Scholarship are awarded INR 7800 per month (for ME/M.Tech) and INR 4500 per month (for other courses) for the duration of their course.
• The scholarship is awarded after the student is admitted into Chandigarh University, from the date of joining the Post Graduate I year course during the selection year.
• Students must note that for the continuation of Chandigarh University scholarships, they must not have any backlogs in any year or semester.
• In addition, students must also maintain good conduct and attendance as required.
• In case of false information or incorrect bank details, the scholarship could be cancelled.
• The Chandigarh University Scholarship Committee reserves the right to award and cancel the scholarship.

Chandigarh University Scholarships for Defence Personnel

To value and respect the services offered by the Indian Defence, special Chandigarh University scholarships are offered to the personnel, ward or spouse. More details of the various scholarships are mentioned below.

CUCHD Scholarship Scheme for War Defence Personnel

• This Chandigarh University scholarship 2024 will be offered to the war widows and wards of war casualties.
• The selected candidates receive a yearly concession of 15% on the tuition fee.
• In addition, a 10% yearly fee waiver is awarded to the wards/spouses of serving or retired defence personnel.
• CU scholarships also reward the wards/spouses of paramilitary forces personnel with a 10% yearly fee waiver.

Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Scholarship for the wards of Kargil War Heroes

As per the name, this Chandigarh University scholarship is awarded to the wards of Kargil War Heroes and martyrs.

• This scholarship amounts up to INR 25 Lakhs where 20 seats are reserved each year for the wards of Kargil Heroes.
• A yearly concession of 15% on the tuition fee is awarded to the selected candidates who are children of Kargil Martyrs.
• In addition, a 10% yearly fee waiver is awarded to the wards of Heroes who have been injured in the Kargil War.
• Students must note that for the continuation of Chandigarh University scholarships, they must not have any backlogs in any year or semester.

Chandigarh University Other Scholarships

In addition to the merit and government scholarships, Chandigarh University also offers other scholarships in the form of concessions as financial aid. The details of these Chandigarh University scholarships are listed below:

• Teaching Assistant Stipend- Teaching Assistant Option for M.Sc and ME students in CUCHD with a stipend of INR 5000 to INR 8000 per month per subject for a maximum of 10 months a year.
• Alumni/Staff Scholarship- This Chandigarh University scholarship 2024 offers a 10% concession on the academic fee of students whose real brother/ sister/spouse/ or wards are alum of CUCHD.
• Old Student Concession Policy to Promote Higher Education- Students from the entire CGC group who seek admission to Chandigarh University after completing their qualifying degree/diploma will receive a CU scholarship equal to 10% of the annual fee for the duration of the program.
• Single Girl Child Concession- Chandigarh University offers a 10% waiver on the annual fee to single girl children for the study duration.
• Teacher’s Ward Concession- For the whole duration of the course, Chandigarh University offers a 10% fee waiver to the wards of teachers (if the teacher has at least one year of regular employment). Under this arrangement, a maximum of 5% of the total seats in each course will be offered at CUCHD.
• Sibling Concession- Chandigarh University scholarships include a 10% yearly fee reduction to one of the siblings enrolled in any institute under the university, as long as both are enrolled. Even if one sibling finishes the course, the concession will be permitted to continue.
• Concession to Girl Sibling- Both female siblings receive a 10% waiver on their annual fees at Chandigarh University for their studies. Even if one sibling completes the course, the concession will be permitted to continue.
• For Orphan Candidates- A 20% concession will be given, and for single parents, a 10% concession is already applicable.

Chandigarh University Early-Bird Scholarship

The Early-Bird Scholarship at Chandigarh University is awarded to students pursuing Master of Engineering Programs. The details of the scholarship include:

• Students are awarded a 15% Chandigarh University scholarship if they have completed their Bachelor of Engineering course at Chandigarh University. Students must note that they need to pay the entire semester fee at the time of admission.
• Furthermore, a 10% scholarship is awarded to students who have completed a Bachelor of Engineering/Technology from other recognised universities or institutes.
