ACMS is established by the Army Welfare education society. The institute provides instruction, teaching, and training, in such branches of study as the University deems appropriate for higher education. It is one of the topmost medical colleges in North India. The college is affiliated with Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, and is also recognized by the Medical Council of India. The university accepts qualifying exams like NEET-UG and NEET-PG. Candidates can apply for admission by visiting the official website.

The University has had academic excellence for over twenty years and It provides an excellent education to undergraduate medical students. The campus offers education to the wards of eligible serving Army personnel, Ex-Army personnel, War Widows, and Widows of army personnel. ACMS is officially attached to the Base Hospital Delhi Cantt (BHDC).
