Vidyalankar Institute of Technology (VIT) is a renowned educational institution imparting quality education in the field of engineering and technology. It was established in 1999 by the Vidyalankar Dyanapeeth Trust, with the approval of the University of Mumbai and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute is located in central Mumbai. The Institute endeavors to provide need-based education in the field of Science, Commerce, and Management. Vidyalankar Institute of Technology offers undergraduate level engineering degree programs in up to five disciplines. 65% of the total seats are reserved for Maharashtra state candidates as per DTE norms. SC/ST candidates enjoy a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum marks eligibility criteria. Foreign/ NRI candidates can apply for direct admission based on marks obtained in the last qualifying exam.

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to any of these programs is 10+2 in science stream with a minimum of 50 percentile marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ any technical vocational subject combined. Aspiring candidates can apply online through the MHT CET website before the last date. Payment of fees can be made online via credit card/ debit card, internet banking, IMPS, cash cards/ mobile wallets. Allotment of seats is carried out through the Maharashtra state level engineering counseling process based on the candidates’ rank or marks obtained in MHT CET. Candidates who meet the MHT CET cut-off must register themselves for the counseling process. The process remains the same for all B.E. courses offered by VIT Mumbai.

Vidyalankar Institute of Technology offers 3 M.E. degree programs in the fields of Information Technology, Computer Engineering, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. It also offers a Master’s degree program in Management Studies. Candidates applying for the M.E. & MMS programs offered by VIT can do so by visiting the Maharashtra DTE website from the third week of July.

Vidyalankar Institute of Technology PG Admission - Eligibility, Fees, Admission Criteria

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the M.E. programs is a BE/ B.Tech degree in the relevant or allied discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates are further required to have a valid GATE score to be eligible for admission. MMS candidates must secure 50% marks in graduation in any discipline. The candidate should be an Indian Citizen. For backward class categories and Persons with a disability should have a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate from Maharashtra State only. Students are required to appear for CAP counseling conducted by DTE, Maharashtra, for seat allotment.

The institute also has a doctoral program in Computer Engineering conducted under the approval of the University of Mumbai. The minimum eligibility criteria for pursuing the Ph.D. program is a Master’s degree in the relevant or allied discipline. Selection is carried out based on merit. Ph.D. candidates can apply directly by contacting the institute.  For SC/ST candidates, the minimum required marks in the last qualifying exam are 45%. Non-GATE applicants can apply for direct admission based on marks obtained in the last qualifying exam under Institute Quota. All candidates are required to appear for counseling (CAP, except Ph.D. candidates) conducted by the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra.

• Applicants seeking admission in the institute must register to the website of Vidyalankar Institute of Technology.
• Application forms will be available on the official website of the institute.
• The successful payment of application fee is followed by issuing of a registration number
• Candidates should submit the application form with the photostat copy of the MH-CET & GATE entrance exams score for various courses.
• Comparing the performance of all candidates appearing for the admission, final merit list based on their overall performance in the entrance exam, and (10+2) examination or equivalent from any statutory board with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
• The date for merit list will be displayed on the website, probably before the Ist Centralized Admission Process (CAP) round results are out for Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Mumbai admission.
• Admission depends completely on the merit list which will be based on the entrance examination score.
• There are no Management quota seats in the college, students are selected only through Institute Level Quota seats as per the norms prescribed by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Maharashtra.
